Tatvam: The Passion of Joan of Arc

My local choir did "Voices of Light" this spring with professional soloists. It is the movie with a score written especially for it. It is almost unbearable at times in its intensity. You think of the people we have tortured recently, and you think about how women have been vilified for their beliefs, even now. This movie is very relevant today. What is not shown is that the day after they burned her to death, they burned the remains again because the clerics were afraid people would gather her ashes.

Sue, that's a great point - it is still very valid today. And when you put it in that perspective, it makes the movie itself much harder to watch.

Thank you for a thought-provoking comment.
